I agree and think it is definitely the way car insurance will be calculated in the future. On the face of it it's a much fairer system as drivers, effectively, pay for the insurance they need, but while this has worked for many younger drivers (whose premiums are set to an abnormally high rate anyway) I do feel that regular commuters will start paying higher premiums.
I have found though that having a box fitted has made me a lot more aware of my driving style and although I'm no boy racer (I've never had a car that would allow me to be one anyway) I think anything that makes us consider our driving probably should be looked upon as a good thing.
No need to get the tin foil helmet out just yet...
